Therapeutic services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. JP Counseling & Associates, LLC also offers self-pay sessions for qualifying clients. Sliding-scale payments may be available and assessed on an individual basis.
We require that clients contact their insurance company to determine coverage for mental health services. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible, has it been met and does it apply to behavioral health services?
- Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance and how much is it?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Insurances currently accepted by JP Counseling & Associates, LLC include but may not be limited to:
- Blue Cross / Blue Shield
- United Health Care
- Value Options Commercial
We do NOT accept Medicaid. This includes but not limited to UPMC for You, Gateway Health Plan, Community Care Behavioral Health Organization (CCBHO), or Highmark Wholecare.
If you are uncertain if your session will be covered by your insurance plan, please contact your insurance company. Clients can find the phone number for any insurance plan inquiries on the back of their insurance cards. Please note that all payments are due at time of service and any services not paid by your insurance will be your responsibility.
Payments accepted by cash, check or credit/debit card or HSA card. JP Counseling & Associates, LLC can also secure your credit/debit card information electronically for regular payments. Clients with high deductibles and all telehealth are required to pre-pay and have a credit card on file.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, or if you have not notified us at least 24 hours before your appointment of cancellation, you will be billed $40 as a No Show/Late Cancel fee which is not covered by any insurance and will be your responsibility.
Your payment is due before or at the time of service. You are responsible for providing the clinician with up-to-date billing information such as name, address, credit card, or policy changes.
